As with any international business dealing, when buying or selling an Italian yacht, it is imperative to do your homework and understand how the market works. Communication is key. Italian culture, its business environment, and regulatory and legal requirements are very different from their American counterparts, often making it challenging for foreign entities to conduct business in Italy. Relationships are very important in Italy, with the outcome of business dealings often being determined by the strength of a relationship between the individual and the business.

George Jousma
PRESIDENT
George Jousma brings more than 40 years of executive experience representing the Italian yachting sector in the Americas, where he is largely responsible for expanding its robust footprint. This specialization has served as a catalyst for the Italian Yacht Group brand. Jousma became President of Allied Marine/ Richard Bertram Yachts in 1994 and grew the company from one product line of yachts with less than $20 million in sales into an organization of over 200 people, 9 locations and sales revenues of over $200 million. During Jousma’s 14-year tenure, Allied became one of the largest distributers of Azimut, Benetti and Ferretti yachts in the Americas, leading to its purchase by the Ferretti Group in 2008. Jousma founded Sanlorenzo of the Americas the same year, serving as President and CEO for a decade and building Sanlorenzo into one of the top motoryacht brands in the Americas today. With a reputation for building lasting relationships with customers and colleagues, Jousma is widely recognized throughout the yachting industry for his integrity and professionalism. Jousma served on the board and as a two term President of the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), the largest professional group of its kind in the world. He has been an active participant in the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF). A lifelong boater from the Midwestern U.S., Jousma holds a business degree from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.

BOOMER Jousma

Boomer Jousma has accrued over a decade of experience as a yachting professional and ranks among the top new yacht brokers in the industry today. Servicing both buyers and sellers of a variety of quality brokerage yachts, Boomer has impressively been involved in the sale and construction of over a dozen new-build Italian yachts above 75 ft. in the past 36 months alone. With an expansive network of captains, industry colleagues and loyal customers, Boomer has become known for the breadth of his knowledge and consistently high quality of service. He has operated throughout the world, selling and delivering boats to a wide variety of international locations. Boomer is an active member of the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) and Young Professionals in Yachting (YPY). Boomer oversees an office in Sag Harbor, New York, spending summers in the Hamptons and winters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jule Mummert
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Jule Mummert brings over 20 years of professional experience in business management and luxury markets to the IYG team as Executive Director. With a career spent primarily in management, Jule employs a visionary style of leadership with a focus on setting a foundation for growth, empowering others and applying a mission for sustainable, long-term success. Experienced working with a discerning clientele, Jule directed fine art acquisitions and collections management for corporate, hospitality and residential clients for a decade. Starting in 1999 in Chicago with art.com, a then-subsidiary of Getty Images, Jule realized early success as team lead of the Corporate Design department, achieving 817% revenue growth in 1 year. Identifying a market opportunity, she designed a system of standardized corporate programs, leading to the establishment of national accounts and her role as National Accounts Manager. In the wake of these achievements, Jule founded JEM Art Consulting, earning an extensive contract for the consolidation and relocation of the global headquarters of PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the largest multi-national professional services corporations in the world (serving 420/500 Fortune 500 companies). Her firm specialized in specifying artist commissions and gallery works for large-scale corporate offices and Chicago-based hospitality groups. Seeking a coastal lifestyle, Jule relocated to South Florida expanding her project base to include product development of art-based merchandise and an experiential dive into Florida-based adventure travel journalism. In 2003, Jule joined the exclusive dealership of Silestone quartz products in the region, Instone of Florida. As Business Manager, she directed operations, managed staff and sales initiatives, focusing on high-end builders and design projects. Jule managed accounts and training for design teams from 40+ Home Depot locations, collaborated with corporate to co-produce a segment for HGTV, assisted with regional marketing and advertising efforts and represented Instone at trade shows and conferences. Jule joined the prestigious New River Fine Art gallery in 2005, spending 5 years specializing in the acquisition of sculpture and masterworks for high-end residential collections and commercial projects. It was while specifying art for superyachts she discovered a passion for yachting. In 2010, she began a several-year position directing operations as Business Manager of a South Florida law firm, specializing in personal injury and workers’ compensation. The time between was spent venturing into the yachting industry with the Charter Marketing Department of Camper & Nicholsons International. Inspired by her experiences in yachting and an opportunity to join the renowned and family-oriented team at IYG, Jule returned to her roots in management, sales and luxury markets as Executive Director. Jule Mummert holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication with a specialization in Organizational Communication and a minor in Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Raised "free-range" on a 5th generation family farm, she encompasses the Midwestern work ethic, learning early about the importance of hard work, doing things right, the family as a team and producing things that last.

JUSTIN BLUE

Justin was raised living aboard a sailboat for 9 years, sailing the East Coast and Caribbean Islands with his family. It was during these formative years his love for the sea and boating life would become everlasting. This love has since grown into a passion for helping others understand the joys of being on the water. At a young age, Justin began his yachting career with Ferretti of America, developing the Ferretti Yachts brand in the Americas market. Being a small family company, it was an all hands on deck approach which provided him with a broad understanding of all aspects of the yacht business, from manufacturing, to sales and marketing, after-sales and customer service. This led to opening his own company providing yacht sales and management services to an elite clientele around the world. After 10 years he exited his business, but the passion of yachting brought him back to the Ferretti Group to further develop their 7 brands in the Americas market as their COO. During his time with Ferretti Group, Justin developed the Pershing brand in the Americas and redeveloped Allied Marine as their Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, making them the largest Pershing dealer in the world. Justin now brings his vast experience to The Italian Yacht Group representing buyers and sellers of yachts worldwide and creating results for his clients. When asked what he loves so much about the sea, Justin explained, “The sea is ever changing, uncontrollable and has beauty beyond the depths of imagination. Once you’re touched by the sea you will spend your life exploring and trying to understand it, knowing very well that you will always be surprised by something new.”

Kiran Ganguly

Kiran comes to us with several years as an experienced yacht captain of all brands of Italian yachts. His proficiency and understanding of yachting grew during his residence in Italy, while in pursuit of his bachelor’s degree from Saint Anselm College. Having the opportunity to manage and captain products such as Riva, Pershing, San Lorenzo, Ferretti and other Italian yachts has only given him a deeper appreciation and knowledge in this field. Born on Long Island, Kiran began life on the water at a young age. Competing in high school and college crew regattas and recreational boating has kept him involved in every variable of the nautical world. Kiran has built a reliable network of crew, captains and clients that boast his ability to grow and maintain positive relationships. He is regarded highly by those who know him for his stalwart and credible personality. Being able to identify and appropriately respond to issues as they arise is one of the many characteristics that makes Kiran an asset in the yacht industry today. Charles Clark
SALES
Charles is a native to Fort Lauderdale with experience on the water nearly everywhere from the lakes of Michigan, to the islands of the Bahamas, and even time abroad in Europe and Asia. At an early age he took a liking to the water and eventually followed his dream of working in the yachting industry. From an early start of simply washing boats with nothing but a bike and a bucket as an adolescent, he quickly moved up to assisting in the management of boats, then to crew on board bigger yachts, and eventually working with a major Italian manufacturer on the warranty and repair side of the industry. After gaining a relationship with the owners, crews, and manufacturer representatives it was only fitting to start working with the IYG in sales and representation. From Benettis to Westports, Vanquish to Vikings, there is a vast array of yachts and products that Charles has grown to know and love on the water. Paired with the dedication to his clients, this makes him a perfect candidate for the sale or purchase of your yacht. Charles summers are spent in the Hamptons and winter in South Florida.
