The roots of the Italian luxury yacht industry can be traced back more than 150 years making 50-year-old Ferretti Yachts seem like a relative newcomer to the list. However, in those five decades, Ferretti has built a reputation equal to luxury yacht builders with an extra 100 years experience or more.
Already successful auto dealers for Italian luxury brands like Lamborghini and Maserati, Bologna, Italy’s Ferretti brothers began representing several boat builders before debuting their own 10-meter motor-sailor design at the 1971 Genoa Boat Show.
Today, the company’s philosophy is simple. Ferretti Yachts’ fleet of 50 to 100 foot flybridge yachts are designed for comfort and style so owners can travel the world without ever leaving “home.”
Ferretti is also notoriously unafraid to innovate or embrace modern technologies, making the shipbuilder instrumental in the development of many revolutionary marine industry advancements commonly in use today.
Just a few of Ferretti’s achievements include stern joystick and control placement for easier docking, Ferretti Trim and Drag Reduction (F-tdr), Cross Fibre Technology (XFT) hull construction, and an at-anchor stabilization system that truly delivers on Ferretti’s promise of a “home at sea” experience.
Ferretti Yachts has also created one of the largest planing hull luxury yachts on the market in the Ferretti Yachts Model 960. Released in 2013, the 29-meter (95-foot) yacht is capable of reaching speeds above 31 knots.
