Founded in 2007, Tankoa Yachts is a young company when compared to other builders in the centuries old Italian yacht industry. With legendary yacht brands more than 100 years old as neighbors – and competitors – Tankoa could face stiff competition for the attention of the most demanding clients.
However, by creating one-off, custom, and semi-custom mega yacht builds in the heart of a maritime cultural center, Tankoa’s marine engineers, designers, and craftsman are able to draw from a pool of skill and inspiration that has existed for a millennium.
Founded in 2007 by a team of super yacht industry veterans, Tankoa was created to focus on building “splendid yachts” with steel and aluminum in the 50-meter and up class. Today, the shipbuilder’s projects have reached beyond 80 meters, or 260 feet, with no limits visible on the horizon.
With every new build, Tankoa has also embraced advanced technology, modern designs, and has put a high-priority on green practices. The company has received multiple awards for creating the most ecological or eco-friendly yachts, including Platinum Green Plus certification for the 72-meter Solo.
As a custom shipbuilder, Tankoa has some of the world’s finest designers on hand to help make their client’s dreams and desires into reality. However, the company is also happy to work with their client’s own preferred design professionals if it will ensure the end result is a perfect reflection of the client’s own unique vision.

Tankoa is a well-respected custom metal yacht builder offering models from 45 to 85 Meters. They have a comparatively smaller yard that builds great boats both in their own production series as well as custom builds. Their CEO comes from a background at Benetti.
