September in the South of France

The pros at IYG are gearing up for the Cannes and Monaco shows, where they will be walking the docks and showing clients the ropes.

Summer may be winding down, but all that means is that boat-show season is winding up. The Italian Yacht Group is looking forward to the start of the European season in its iconic French Riviera locations. First will be the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival beginning on September 10th and stretching through the 15th. Cannes is a picturesque little city in the South of France known best for its prestigious film festival held every May. But just after that, this town is known for boats (and glamor of course).

2023 Cannes Yachting Festival

The Cannes show is the largest in-water show in all of Europe, and a major sales barometer for many of the continent’s preeminent brands. The usual suspects like Ferretti, Azimut, and Sanlorenzo all have major presences at this show. But there are always some surprises tucked into the nooks and crannies of the docks, and with so many Italian builders eager to show off their wares, you’re nearly assured to find something you like. Take Arcadia Yachts’ A96, for instance: the World Yachts Trophies winner for the “Most Innovative Yacht” for its groundbreaking tech and thoughtful design. With myriad builders represented, and with such a large physical footprint, the best way to make use of your time in Cannes is to walk the show with an IYG professional.

After you’re done on the docks hit the lobby bars of one of the many ultra-chic hotels that line the harbor for a refreshing Aperol spritz (Le Sud at the Hotel Martinez is a can’t miss). Then head over to Table 22 where Alain Ducasse-trained chef Noel Mantel conjures Provencal-inspired favorites. Or check out Michelin-star chef Mauro Colagreco‘s new beach bar B Fire for expertly crafted dishes in a refreshingly laidback environment.

Monaco Yacht Show 2023

After Cannes wraps up you’ve got just over a week to recharge before dashing off to the superyacht industry’s premiere event-the Monaco Yacht Show, which kicks off just down the train line from Cannes on September 25th. There is simply nothing else in the world quite like the Monaco show.

Some of the world’s largest and most expensive private vessels will be on display, all the way up to the newly launched 400-foot Lurssen Kismet, which will be one of the largest yachts ever displayed at the show. For its part, IYG is proud to have the Baglietto T52 Akula in Monaco. The 170-foot yacht with exteriors by Francesco Paszkowski and interiors by Enrico Gobbi along with Margherita Casprini is a true tour-de-force. IYG walked hand in hand with a repeat client to get this vessel to a level of luxury that is ready to compete with the best in the world.

IYG is also prepared to walk with you along the docks of Monaco, offering expert insight and guidance into a bustling show that can at times be disorienting for novices. But whether it’s your first time in Monaco or you’re an old pro, having an IYG professional with you along the way will ensure your experience there is as nonpareil as the wares that surround you.
