IYG looks forward to the Palm Beach International Boat Show, where it feels that it has a home field advantage.
March is here again and nearly everyone in the yachting world is abuzz with anticipation of the Palm Beach International Boat Show. The Palm Beach show is an industry favorite for good reason. It’s a manageable size, has easy access to great bars and restaurants, and there are serious boat buyers walking the docks. The fact that it puts a cap on the frenetic boat-show season before the long summer months is icing on the cake.

IYG plans on finishing that season strong, and will have four boats on display. There will be the 106-foot, 2018 Sanlorenzo FIFTY SHADES, which sleeps 10 in a vibrant interior styled by Cullen Moser.
Next is the 92-foot 2012 Sanlorenzo FONTANA, a new-to-market vessel with a Bahamas friendly draft. PERCAL is a 104-foot Sanlorenzo built in 2014 that has interiors by Francesco Paskowski and a sporty cruise speed of 22 knots. And last there’s a Sirena 88 that has a dual-master setup and a dazzling array of Garmin electronics.

IYG maintains an office in Palm Beach, and as such the show has the ring of home to it. We are always happy to provide recommendations for food and lodging to our clients and guests. Some of the classic favorite eateries in Palm Beach include the forever stylish Sant Ambroeus, the bustling Buccan, chic and trendy Le Bilboquet, and the poolside scene at Swifty’s at the Colony Hotel.

Palm Beach—and West Palm in particular—always has buzzy new places springing up. A few of our favorites include West Palm’s Malka, a kosher restaurant that has been receiving rave reviews; Lamarina, a Mediterranean-inspired hotspot at Safe Harbor Rybovich; and the breezy rooftop at Bar Capri, also in West Palm—an excellent place to sneak away from the show for a refreshing Limoncello spritz.

Once you’re sated and refreshed, Palm Beach offers some of the best hotels in the country to rest up for a big day of yacht shopping. The Breakers, of course, needs no introduction with its famous bars and a staff that operates at a very high level. The Ben in West Palm is a newer establishment that has quickly become an industry favorite and a place to see and be seen. The White Elephant on the island is a lovely little escape with yacht-y amenities like a partnership with Barton & Gray. And The Brazilian Court is an Old Florida, Palm Beach staple with a Café Boulud in its courtyard.

Wherever you decide to stay, when you do get to the docks make sure to give us a call. Because the Palm Beach Boat Show is our happy place, and we’d like nothing more than to walk the show with you, and make you see exactly why that is.
