Eco Credentials That Matter
Ever since it was founded in 2008, Arcadia Yachts has made a name for itself by creating high- volume, design-forward, and green-minded vessels. The builder’s latest edition—the A80new—will do nothing to dissuade fans of the Sorrento, Italy-based builder as she is right in line with the brand’s values.
In line with the current trends, the A80new has a heavy focus on minimizing its carbon footprint. It can come with a number of state-of-the-art solar panels and has excellent fuel- efficiency and range numbers. For example at 16 knots and 2,050 RPM it has a range of 476 nautical miles while burning just 65 gallons per hour—this when powered with twin Volvo Penta pods.

The yacht has also been constructed to comply with all regulations put in place to protect the Posidonia oceanica seagrass that has become a hot-button issue in the Med. Described as “the lungs of the sea” the seagrass plays a key role at the very foundation of the sea’s ecosystem by increasing water clarity, protecting against erosion, and acting as a nursery for marine life. The A80new’s strict compliance with environmental directives allows it the utmost freedom to roam in Mediterranean cruising grounds, while also showcasing Arcadia’s ardent desire to protect the natural environment that all boaters love.

“I think it’s really admirable, the lengths that Arcadia has gone to with this boat to ensure that it has as gentle an impact on the environment as possible…”

“That stuff is really important for the seagrass and the wildlife of course, but it has that double edge of ensuring that Arcadia customers can use their boats wherever they like in the Mediterranean region. That’s not only a conscientious business move by them, it’s a smart one too.”

Arcadia’s Trademark Volume Is On Full Display
One of the things Arcadia quickly became famous for after it was founded was the amount of interior space its yachts offered. Stepping aboard an Arcadia can feel like stepping aboard a yacht that is 20-percent larger than it actually is. Besides the A80new’s sheer interior volume, there are other aspects of her design that make her feel spacious, while also offering excellent levels of privacy for owners and guests.

Master Suite Sophistication and Guest Comfort Below
The new model has a raised-pilothouse design, which gives the captain and crew their own area for navigating—one with high-end electronics, excellent lines of sight, and comfortable seats for longer excursions. The yacht’s trademark wide, vertical bow allows for an enormous maindeck master replete with luxurious furnishings and an extremely high level of fit and finish. Having the master on the main deck offers a level of sophistication to the owner’s time aboard that won’t be found on yachts with the master placed on the smaller and comparatively darker accommodations level. Massive windows to either side of the master’s king-sized berth offer plentiful amounts of natural light while a large, en suite head is the perfect place to clean up after a long day of playing in the sun.

Down below on the accommodations level there are four en suite staterooms that are notable for their understated elegance as well as creative stowage arrangements that allow guests to bring enough clothes to make it through a multi-week journey while never wearing the same thing twice.
“When you look at the accommodations areas on the A80new, both the master and the lower deck, what you find is a real sense of space, and a real understanding of how people actually spend time on their yachts,” says Jousma.

Everyone onboard will have their privacy, but in the master in particular there’s also this great feeling of openness because of that wide beam carrying so far forward and also the big windows. I think all of these features combined will be tempting for quite a few prospective owners.

See the A80new in Person at Cannes
The A80new offers an incredible flybridge that again stands out for its spaciousness with 861-square feet of entertainment space. A hardtop covers the forward portion with its alfresco dining table and offers cool shade to those who have had enough sun. For those obsessed with their bronze there is an aft lounge space that is excellent for working on a tan.

On the main deck, the yacht’s salon is decorated in a style that is minimalist and modern but also beachy and inviting. Sofas to port and starboard abut near sole-to-ceiling windows while a dining table forward can handle meals on more formal occasions.
The A80new also has a beach club with extendable side wings and a hydraulic swim platform. “The beach club is going to be a hit with a lot of folks,” says Jousma. “It’s right on trend with a fun and inviting space so close to the water, and particularly with younger owners—which we are seeing more and more of—I think they’ll find this very appealing.”

The A80new will make her world debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival. If you would like to get a closer look at her, reach out to the team at IYG and we will be thrilled to hop aboard with you and give her a thorough look. We can’t wait to see you there.
