GEMS II Details
Built by Tamsen Yachts in 2009, a distinguished Turkish shipard, M/Y GEMS II has been meticulously maintained since its inception until 2024, undergoing continuous maintenance and refit works both inside and out. In 2022, the yacht was equipped with new gyroscopic 0 speed stabilizers, significantly enhancing onboard comfort. In 2024, the 15 year RINA was due but unfortunately was never realised, the consequences of which were that GEMS II was not able to perform ay charters in 2024.
Stepping on board Gems II is an experience in itself; guests are immediately enveloped in a modern and inviting atmosphere, where they'll feel instantly at ease, with subtle touches of luxury enhancing the overall ambiance. Her masculine lines and grey hull turn heads in ports, cleverly concealing a beam of 8.6 meters, which creates a voluminous hull with a generous amount of space below deck.
GEMS II is now offered for sale in her current condition with a certain amount of work to be done by the buyer. The work mainly consists of the RINA requests to get GEMS II back in class.

M/Y GEMS II is a striking 40.5-metre tri-deck motor yacht delivered by Tamsen Yachts in 2009. With a powerful yet elegant profile, expansive interior volume, and thoughtful layout throughout, she offers a rare opportunity for those seeking a high-volume platform at an accessible price point. Built in composite with a GRP hull and superstructure, her design by the Tamsen in-house team showcases clean lines, an 8.6-metre beam, and extensive glazing that floods the interiors with natural light.
Aft Deck: At the stern there is a large sunpad and an extendable table for alfresco dining. Depending on how many chairs you add, it comfortably seats 10-12 guests.
Fore Deck: Composed of a large U-shaped settee surrounding a jacuzzi and two tables. Further forward are the two anchor windlasses and two 10 person life rafts; two 20 person liferafs are stored on the upper aft deck. The mast carries two antennas, two radars and two camera (one adjustable forward and one aft). The original VSAT dish is now redundant as Starlink has been fitted.
Main Salon: Entering from the aft deck, the starboard side feautures a full equipped ba with its own refrigerator while a TV sits opposite. Two lounge areas with day heads are arranged on either side. To th front of the salon is a large U-shaped sofa facing a tv, with cabinetry for china and glassware along the sides.
Guest Cabins: She accommodates up to 12 guests in five ensuite cabins. The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck entering through the starboard corridor and includes a private study, large windows, and a spacious bathroom with a seperate bath and shower. Toward the back of the cabin you will find port and starboard walk in wardrobes.
Below deck, two VIP doubles and two twin cabins with Pullman berths are beautifully finished and exceptionally well laid out. All bathrooms are modern, elegant, and proportionally large for a yacht of this size. The entrance to the lower deck also offers a wine cellar.
Galley: On the port side, you will find a generously sized galley equipped with a walk in fridge/freezer and two American-style fridge/freezers. The galley also has two ovens, two dishwashers and a microwave.
Crew Area: Forward on the starboard side is the crew mess as well as three double crew cabins accommodating a total of 6 crew each with its own ensuite shower and WC keeping in regulation with STCW regulations.
Engine Room: Houses the two main MTU 16V 2000 M93 diesel engines as well as the two 90kW generator sets driven by John Deere engines and Kilopak alternators. The engine room also houses all of the technical equipment and offers a watch station for the engineer.
Garage and Aft Swim Platform: The transfom folds down to form a swim platform and an access for the garage. Inside the garage is a 3.2m tender and a jet ski. This spaces has been partitioned to house the two VEEM zero-speed gyro stabilisers. There is also two washing machines, two dryers, service batteries, a lauching ramp and storage for watersports toys such as paddleboards and kayaks.
When it comes to fun on the water, she carries an excellent toy selection including a Williams 505 tender, Sea-Doo GTX 300, wakeboard, water skis, snorkelling gear, and inflatables. There is also ample storage and easy launching from the garage and platform.
It should be noted that GEMS II is currently out of class and cannot move under her own power from the dock. She will therefore require some technical and cosmetic updates to return to full operational status, particularly for commercial charter use. That said, her strong bones, unique layout, and timeless aesthetic offer significant value and potential for a new owner ready to invest in a refit.
With her foredeck jacuzzi, expansive 8.6m beam, dual VIPs, open-plan interiors, and stabilisers, GEMS II stands out as a yacht with real personality, comfort, and promise—ready to be brought back to her full glory.
