RECENT PRICE REDUCTION
EXILE is currently owned by a long time Gunboat customer who wanted to do some high latitude exploring in the finest expedition trawler we could find him. This Nordhavn 72 is simply incredible. It takes an exceptional powerboat to get me excited. With diesel prices falling, now is the time to see the world on EXILE. With her exceptional fuel efficiency, this Nordhavn is a great buy for the future as well. The systems are shiplike and shipshape. Speaking of ships, this is truly a ship. Everything is scaled for heavy duty long term exploration. The access to systems is better than on most boats twice her size, and her original owner specified equipment for long term reliability at high latitudes. On that note, her hull laminates are specially reinforced with kevlar for additional ice protection. My feeling is that EXILE could go anywhere and be happy, self-sufficient, and reliable.

EXILE is now available for sale. She is in Ft Lauderdale.

While EXILE is Gunboat's central listing, I have asked my friend Michael Nethersole at Northrop & Johnson in Ft Lauderdale to assist us with her sale. Her prior owners were Michael's customer, so between us, we can answer about any question you may come up with.

EXILE features an exceptional interior layout, classically done with cherry panelling. Her Master stateroom, two guest staterooms, and crew quarters are very comfortable, well designed and immaculate. The layout provides excellent privacy in the staterooms, and offers several terrific gathering areas in the salon, pilothouse, aft deck, and flybridge.

The heart of the interior is the enormous salon that opens to the aft deck. A full dining table and living room offer ample gathering space for entertaining. Being a wide body layout, the salon is full width on the port side. There are only side decks on the starboard side. Forward and to port, the salon is connected by a bar counter to the galley, which is open to the salon, and is fully equipped with:

Sub-Zero 700TR-RH refrigerator
Sub-Zero 700 BF freezer
GE Monogram ZCG3500DSS trash compactor
Bosch SHV6803 stainless dishwasher
Wine cooler 2015 WCOL
Thermador four burner electric stove & oven
Thermador stainless range hood
Microwave oven
Franke PRX160RH sink
Franke OE900 faucet
Miele two burner BBQ grill – aft deck
Miele single burner BBQ grill – flybridge
Sub-Zero deck fridge & ice maker – flybridge

Just forward of the galley, this magnificent room occupies the full beam of the yacht. A king sized walkaround berth is against the aft bulkhead just off centerline to port, and a comfortable black leather reading chair with matching foot stool is to starboard. Hanging lockers, lockers and drawers abound providing more storage than one could ever hope to fill. The ensuite master bath is forward to starboard with a granite countertop vanity, stall shower, and tile flooring.

A staircase from the pilothouse lands in a generous lobby in the forward part of the ship. The ship’s laundry is located here, convenient to the two mirror image guest staterooms forward, and via a “laundry chute” from the owner’s stateroom. The guest staterooms each have a generous queen sized berth outboard, hanging lockers and drawer storage, and an ensuite bathroom with stall shower. Beneath the guest staterooms, entered via a hatch in the floor of the guest lobby, is a vast storage area containing the ship’s battery banks and, via a watertight door, providing access to the ship’s tanks. All bulky provisions for extended cruising can be safely stored here.

The crew quarters are on the lower deck beneath the galley and just forward of the engine room bulkhead. The cabin, finished like the rest of the yacht in two tone cherry, has a queen sized berth against the forward bulkhead, and would be perfectly suitable as a guest stateroom if crew are not employed. The crew bathroom with stall shower is across a small lobby to starboard outside the engine room door.

This commanding space is up several steps from the starboard lobby opposite the galley, and is over the master stateroom. Two blue leather Stidd chairs face the helm, and an L-shaped blue leather settee with breakfast table provide an observation area for guests behind these chairs. A convenient “off watch” berth is aft of the settee, providing a comfortable but close at hand spot during night passages. A convenient day head is in the aft starboard corner, and the companionway stairs to the flybridge are to port. Port and starboard “stable” doors give access to the wing stations and the Portuguese bridge.

The aft deck has four director’s chairs and a breakfast table, twin Miele BBQ grill and sink, and a staircase to the boat deck. A wide sliding door opens the saloon to this area. Forward along the starboard side deck a gate provides access when berthed alongside inboard of which is a “stable” door to the lobby opposite the galley. Further forward several steps head up to the Portuguese bridge around the pilothouse. A further gate in the bulwarks here provides access if berthed alongside a high pier or quay.

The expansive foredeck is surrounded with a sturdy stainless steel railing. A molded dunnage box and two deep “fender” lockers are provided, as well as access to the chain lockers. Several steps on the port side of the pilothouse lead down to a boarding area and another gate in the bulwarks, outside the galley window if berthed port side to. The flybridge, with two Stidd helm chairs, is protected from the sun by a full hardtop. Several steps lead down to the boat deck where the ship’s tender is to starboard, and a Marquipt 3,500 lb. crane that launches tenders from either the port side or from the stern is to port.
