SCINTILLA MARIS was custom designed and built to the specifications for the ideal go-anywhere explorer yacht developed by a seasoned yachtsman during decades of cruising. The stunning outcome represents the epitome in comfort, quality, seakeeping characteristics, style and distinction. She was launched in 2023 and has just received her first tune up by her builder – Damen Maaskant in Holland. Her heavily built, recycled trawler hull, the use of state-of-the-art technology in electric propulsion, navigation equipment and vessel management systems, all complimented by refined interior and exterior amenities, make her an alluring combination of a superyacht.
SCINTILLA MARIS boasts an open, bright, contemporary and comfortable interior, designed to accentuate daylight and connect guests with the yacht’s environment. Her large master suite is located mid-ship on the lower deck and boasts a 1.5m diameter skylight and a lofty 2.4m ceiling height. The configuration of the five guest cabins offers flexibility in adapting to the guest’s requirements.
The main deck has a welcoming full beam main galley, designed as a ‘country kitchen’ to foster culinary interactions with the chef. On the spacious bridge deck, three large monitors display navigational and operational information to provide guests with live situational awareness and serve as an open invitation to engage the officers in an informational dialogue.
Also on the main deck, large glass doors connect the lounge to SCINTILLA MARIS’ centrally located beach club. Here, guests can enjoy an outdoor, shaded ‘paradise’ with a lounge area, a bar, a galley and water level boarding platforms. This large, versatile area offers it all: bordered on two sides by stepless access to the water, tenders and toys for endless fun, it is invitingly suitable for partying, barbequing, al fresco dining or even for a more formal gathering for sunset cocktails.
Outdoor comfort is exceptional on board, with recycled generator heat for outdoor ambient heating on the Portuguese Bridge and aft deck. There’s also six-person observation platform elevated 15 meters above the water line where guests can keep an eye out for whales and other marine life or just relax and absorb the environment from aloft.
SCINTILLA MARIS’s hybrid propulsion system ensures unrestricted use in areas with carbon emission bans. Fully electric, it’s quiet, fuel-efficient, and features Dynamic Positioning (DP), which keeps the yacht stationary without anchoring by using thrusters, rudder, and propeller. This technology is ideal for staying at rest in sensitive coral zones, deep fjords, or during wildlife observation, while also reducing rolling motion by maintaining the bow's alignment with the waves.
