Rossinavi Is The Real Deal

|

When it comes to Italian-built mega yachts you’d be hard-pressed to find a more respected name than Rossinavi.

Despite perhaps not being quite as famous as some of the oldest Italian yards, Rossinavi claims a high level of respect from those in the know. Founded in 1980 in the Italian boatbuilding Mecca of Viareggio on the Tuscan coast, the builder at first excelled as a subcontractor supplying other yards with hulls and various yacht components. However, by 2007 the young company had truly come into its own, and decided to start building its own premium mega yachts, with a focus on beautiful design, elite fit and finish, and a willingness to customize any project to an owner’s wishes.

Now under the watchful eye of Federico Rossi—whose father Claudio founded the business—Rossinavi has turned out 20 different yachts over the years ranging from 126- to 230-feet length overall. The company is known for building extremely high quality vessels. It is also known for accommodating shallow drafts, extra-long ranges, and any other special requests an owner might make.

“What I really like is that Rossinavi takes a problem and solves it on its own,” says IYG’s Boomer Jousma. “They have a history as a subcontractor, so they can build their own passerelles, cranes, cleats, windlasses, hydraulic balconies, you name it. And what’s great about that is they aren’t beholden to other people’s timelines. Other builders will subcontract out to Besenzoni, Opacmare, and others, and that can add to a build time. Rossinavi does their own service and warranty work too. They basically took a subcontractor’s mentality—with expertise in the machine space—and applied it to their own boats and that’s what makes them really special.”

IYG is intimately familiar with this builder as it recently sold a 45-meter Rossinavi designed by Fulvio Di Simoni—he of Pershing fame. In fact, the yacht’s innovative concept is the inspiration for Rossinavi’s new brand, Nolimits, and it belongs to an American owner. At 495 gross tons it draws just about seven feet, making most Bahamian ports of call very accessible. This planing-hull super yacht has five cabins, a gym, and an onboard pool.

The models in the Nolimits fleet will range from NL30, NL37, NL37+, NL45 and NL45+. The NL37+ and NL45+ offer an additional deck compared to their base models.
