Reflecting on a remarkable year at IYG


First and foremost we’d like to announce the last sale of the year, a beautiful Wajer 55 scheduled for delivery to Sag Harbor in May 2024. This sale marks a significant milestone for the proud owner, who is stepping up from a smaller 38 Wajer. The past year was one to celebrate here at the Italian Yacht Group. We made significant efforts to expand our business and provide our clients with the most bespoke and in-depth counseling in the industry when it comes to buying, selling, or building an Italian-made vessel. Time and again in 2023 IYG set itself apart from its peers, proving itself to be a truly singular force in the world of yacht brokerage.

Here are a few numbers to show for our efforts that we are proud of. We currently have five yachts above 45 meters in build, with plans to deliver them at different times over the next three years. All told those five projects total over $150 million worth of inventory—and they’re all built in Italy. This achievement is plain evidence of IYG’s ever-increasing footprint in the mega-yacht sector.

We’ve also been busy in a host of other segments, with 31 units sold in 2023, totaling 2,150 feet and $190 million. There isn’t a big name in the Italian boatbuilding world that we haven’t worked with this past year, including brands like Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Baglietto, Rossinavi, and more. We did all this despite our relatively small size compared to other major boat brokerages. We view our staff size as an advantage, allowing us to both give our customers unrivaled personalized attention and react to market conditions with swiftness our more corporatized competitors simply can’t match. We will continue to leverage our deep contacts and unmatched expertise—not to mention our underdog spirit—bringing the very best services to our valued clients. Our aim is to be the “ghost in the machine” in the brokerage industry, quietly making sure all the right pieces fall into place to make sure our customers get the yacht of their dreams at the price of their dreams.

IYG also expanded this year, adding two enormous assets to our team in the form of Patrick Hopkins and Morgan Sandoval. Patrick is a sales executive with 12 years of experience as a broker and a long career in the U.S. Coast Guard before that. His expert knowledge base, deep industry contacts, and savant-like attention to detail have made him an invaluable addition to the IYG team. Morgan aids Patrick in all things related to the selling of yachts. Her savvy marketing techniques and top-shelf organizational skills add iron strength to the backbone of IYG.

Lastly, 2023 saw IYG make a concerted effort to expand its online presence with an overhaul of our Web site to make it both aesthetically pleasing and easy to use, so that our clients have as enjoyable and fruitful experience as possible when they want to learn more about what IYG has to offer them.
