FAR NIENTE Sold: IYG Closes 2014 Westport 40M Tri Deck

|

Italian Yacht Group is pleased to announce the sale of FAR NIENTE, a 2014 Westport 40M Tri Deck. Boomer Jousma and Vittoria Santarone of IYG, together with co-listing broker James Corts, represented the seller in the transaction.

FAR NIENTE reflected many of the considerations experienced yacht buyers evaluate during an acquisition: a single owner from delivery, full-time professional crew, detailed maintenance records, active ABS classification, and a 10-Year ABS Survey completed in 2024. At 131 feet, she combined established charter capability with the engineering, layout, and operational systems expected of a well-maintained yacht in this segment.

A Proven Design with a Distinguished History

The Westport 40M Tri Deck has earned recognition within the American superyacht market. Designed by naval architect William Garden with exterior styling by Taylor Olson, the yacht is built on a composite fiberglass hull with a 26-foot 2-inch beam and a tri-deck configuration designed to separate living, entertaining, and service areas.

Westport Yachts has been building composite motor yachts in Washington State since 1964, evolving from its Pacific Northwest commercial and charter roots into a recognized American builder with decades of experience in yacht construction.

The 40M platform reflects that background through its practical layout, semi-custom approach, and established presence in the market. For buyers evaluating yachts in this segment, an established design history provides valuable context during due diligence. A broad ownership base, comparable sales data, and documented resale history can help buyers make informed decisions.

Maintained for Continued Excellence

FAR NIENTE received consistent mechanical, cosmetic, and technological investment throughout ownership. Delivered new in 2014, she was maintained with attention to long-term reliability, and the 10-Year ABS Survey completed in 2024 confirmed her continued operational readiness.
