The Ocean Aleander 70 Evolution was truly designed with the cruising owner/operator in mind. The Volvo IPS 1350 propulsion system coupled with a stand alone bow thruster and cockpit control station provide for stress free maneuvering in close quarters and docking situations. The Volvo Dynamic positioning systems allows the boat hold its position and heading while waiting for bridge openings, fuel docks or traffic to pass.Â
The 70E also offers incredible fuel economy, hence a low operating cost.. In May, 2023 while running offshore in calm seas from St. Augustine to Charleston, the Captain reported cuising speed offshore of 20 knots at only 70% engine load burning only 62 gallons per hour with full fuel on board. This kind of performance is rare in a 70' class motoryacht. Her Volvo propulsion package is covered under a Volvo factory Extended Service Plan that is transferrable to her next owner. Her Owners have maintained the vessel with an open checkbook and detiled service records are available upon contract.
This is one of the few 70 Evolutions that was built without the crew quarters in the engine spaces. The current owners sought this configuation out specifically because they preferred to have the valuable space taken up by crew quartes to use as a storage area for water toys, supplies and a utility room for travel. Since vessel was originally kept on fresh water in Tennesse it's equipped with a blackwater marine sanitation system.Â
