Are You Ready for the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show?

|

The 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show is fast approaching, with opening day slated for this Thursday, March 23rd. The show, which runs through the 26th, is one of the most popular in the world among industry insiders and potential owners alike—and for good reason. This show in particular strikes a perfect balance: with a stunning array of boats large and small, excellent access to trendy eateries and much-loved bars, and all in a package that is manageably sized and easy to get around. Let’s learn a little more about what many consider to be America’s best boat show.

The show is located along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach, directly across the IntraCoastal from Palm Beach Island. Importantly, there is no box office for this show. Tickets must be purchased online and scanned at the entrance. VIP options are available offering access to amenities like gourmet food, a premium open bar, early entry to the docks, and access to the Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair which runs concurrently with the boat show.

Once you hit the docks head over to the Italian Yacht Group in-water display at Ramp 8, Dock 21& 22, where two beautiful Sanlorenzo yachts will be on display. Peacekeeper is a 2015 SL96 with a hi-lo swim platform, three staterooms, and a gym on its lower deck. With just 2,000 hours on its MTUs, Peacekeeper is the only American spec SL96 on the market. No Time to Die is a 2020 SX88 with an open floor plan, a 323-square-foot beach club, and a sleek and eye-catching exterior profile. IYG is uniquely positioned to present both of these yachts as it combines unrivaled experience working with Italian brands with a hands-on approach that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else.

When you’re done checking out the boats on display nothing hits the spot like a pre-dinner cocktail. Luckily, West Palm is loaded with all sorts of establishments that fit the bill from fun-loving to elegant. Want live music outdoors? E.R. Bradley’s Saloon is adjacent to the show’s main entrance. In the mood for margaritas? Check out Rocco’s Tacos on Clematis Street. Want something a bit more refined? Head to Elisabetta’s, a chic Italian ristorante a stone’s throw from the show.

When you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to the island for dinner. May we recommend Buccan, a James Beard-nominated restaurant with an imaginative and delectable menu. Café Boulod is a staple for the Palm Beach set, and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. You may also want to try your luck at Bilboquet, it’s fantastic … if you can get in.

As a popular vacation destination, the Palm Beach area has its fair share of hotels. The Breakers is perhaps the most famous in the area, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean. For a more subdued but no less luxurious place to rest your head try The White Elephant, a boutique hotel that offers some seriously sweet perks to guests. For a more pedestrian option within walking distance to the show, the Hyatt Place West Palm Beach/Downtown has been a favorite among industry insiders for years. However if you’re late in the game, and the hotels are booked, it’s always wise to check out Airbnb, as there are often many excellent (and available) selections in the area.
