Summers spent on yachts should create memories that last a lifetime. Whether you choose a new destination or a classic life at sea offers an entirely fresh perspective. Here are the Italian Yacht Group’s best yachting destinations for 2022.

Yachting on the French Riviera

Harbor hopping in the French Riviera offers stunning scenery and epic nightlife experiences. The typical yachting season is in the summer, beginning in April and ending in October. Summers on the French Riviera are known for endless sunny days and silky sand beaches.

Cannes

Every year the infamous Cannes film festival draws celebrities from all over the world. On-shore excursions allow you to soak up culture, art, and history. A stroll down Le Suquet provides a wealth of history and culture, or visit La Croisette or Rue d’Antibes for a luxury shopping experience.

Sneak away to Îles de Lérins for a private seascape experience perfect for sunbathing and watersports. Calm waters situated between two islands decorated with eucalyptus trees offer fantastic swimming and kayaking. Home to Fort Royal and an Abby, there is a continuation of Cannes’ rich history.

St. Tropez

Pampelonne Beach is considered one of the best yachting destinations due to its shallow waters that are perfect for swimming. Offering over 5 km of pristine white sand beach, Pampelonne is home to many beach clubs, including Club 55, frequented by many A-list celebrities, and Nikki Beach, a swanky club with famous DJs.

Yachting in Greece

With a laid-back culture, delicious food, and rich history Greece offers everything needed for a luxury vacation at sea. Beautiful topaz waters contrast the picturesque white architecture.

Mykonos

Mykonos island is a popular destination for superyacht enthusiasts. Its active nightlife and abundant on-shore activities provide ample entertainment. In the North are secluded beaches to escape the energy of the party beaches of the South. It is conveniently located in the middle of the Aegean Sea, making it a great location to use as a home base. Ornos and Psarou bays are substantial enough to host large, luxury yachts.

Chios

Home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, castles, and several museums, Chios is located near Turkey on the Eastern side of the Aegean Sea. Quieter, without excessive tourist activity, Chios is not known for its beaches but rather for crystal clear waters.

Yachting in Spain

Yachting in Spain offers the best of both worlds, luxurious, modern city ports and quaint fishing villages. Barcelona offers beaches, such as Barceloneta, Nova Icaria or Bogatell, and the Picasso museum.

Ibiza

Over 50 stunning beaches and fabulous world markets provide entertainment during the day, and clubs hosting the world’s top DJs provide a hopping nightlife. Clubs such as Eden and Pacha are regular hot spots. Cafe del Mar is a perfect stop to soak up the atmosphere for a slower pace of life.

Yachting in the Great Barrier Reef

If you need a new adventure, many superyachts are making the trek to the Great Barrier Reef. Widely considered one of the best yachting destinations, the Great Barrier Reef offers a one-of-a-kind yachting experience.

Cairns

Cairns offers a perfect home base for Lizard Island, Barron Dalla Estates, and Opal Reef. Lizard Island Resort offers private beaches, local seafood, and luxury spa treatments. Opal reef, in particular, is renowned for snorkeling and fantastic driving experiences.

Whitsunday

A group of 73 mostly uninhabited islands offers a private excursion to experience a trove of flora and fauna. Coral reefs, lush forests, and white sand beaches surround Hamilton Island and the luxury resort it hosts.

Abel Point Marina is large enough to support super yachts and offers unique on-shore excursions, such as diving with platypus or helicopter tours of the reef.

Yachting in Alaska

An awe-inspiring destination where you will find longer days and romantic sunsets. The typical yachting season for Alaska is May through September, with the peak season being late May through July.

Rugged landscapes and rich history provide an adventure beyond luxury. Juneau, the state capital, offers an ideal home base where you can witness icebergs begin their descent to warmed waters.

Activities include hiking, scuba diving, hunting for oysters, or kayaking through some of nature’s most dramatic scenery in Alaska.

Whether you are chartering a yacht or have taken the leap to own your yachting experience, these summer destinations are sure to impress.
